Director of Business Development

Decision Point Research is a data collection company that serves the market research industry.  Its core activities are recruiting for qualitative and quantitative research, and online research utilizing its ethnic panel which is the largest and most diverse in Canada.  Its clients are located in North America, Europe, and the Far East.  The company has established a leadership position during its brief history, and is presently seeking a sales executive as Director of Business Development to accelerate its growth in Canada and the United States.

Position: Director of Business Development

Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • To assess market opportunities for Recruiting and Online research
  • To create and maintain a target list of potential clients in Canada and the United States
  • To rank new client potential according to sales volume and expected profitability
  • To develop and, following approval, execute a sales plan for targeted revenue growth in Recruiting and Online business
  • To assist in the creation and refinement of suitable marketing materials to introduce the company to prospective clients
  • To establish contact and present the Company’s capabilities to potential clients in Canada and the United States
  • To travel as required to attend and represent the Company at meetings and conferences to promote awareness of the Company and its services
  • To report weekly on client interactions, outcomes, and required follow-ups
  • To assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual budgets and the tracking of performance against them
  • To participate in quote preparation and submission as required
  • To promote an inclusive, positive, team- and results-oriented workplace culture
  • To assist in the performance of other sales-related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business, Management, or Market Research
  • Minimum of 10 years’ sales/sales management experience in data collection for market research
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships

Key Performance Criteria:

  • Sales plan development and reporting
  • New client leads, RFQ’s, and sales
  • Gross profit per new client
  • Management to expense budget
